The Oreva Girl Child Initiative equips, protects, and empowers
girls and young women across Nigeria – with knowledge, confidence,
and the tools to build futures that no one can take from them.
Rivers · Bayelsa · Lagos · Delta
We equip girls with the knowledge to recognise danger, resist abuse, and report when something is wrong. No child should carry a threat she was never taught to name.
From body safety and mental health to online risks and financial literacy - we build the kind of knowledge that follows a girl into every room she enters for the rest of her life.
Skills. Mentorship. Seed funding. Platforms to speak. We give girls the tools to build businesses, lead communities, and walk through the world with their heads held high.
“You cannot light a candle to show others the way without the flame first touching you. I started OGACI because I could not look away. Nine years later, I still cannot. And I never will.”
What started as a conviction became a movement. Mrs. Oreva has spent nine years walking into schools, communities, and the broken spaces where girls are struggling in silence – and refusing to leave until they know they are seen, protected, and worth fighting for.
Her work has reached over 8,000 children across four states. Her voice has been broadcast on radio, delivered in city-wide conferences, and carried into the halls of government bodies. But she will tell you herself: the real work happens one girl at a time.
Four pillars. One mission. Thousands of girls equipped. Body Safety. Relationships Safety. Online Safety. Financial Safety. Built for girls aged 8–12. Delivered in schools and communities across Nigeria.
If your school, church, or community wants to be part of the Smart Girls Safety Series – we want to hear from you.

Before OGACI came to my school, I didn't know I had the right to say no. Now I do — and I've taught my friends too.
"I pitched my business idea in 60 seconds. Two months later, I had a ₦50,000 grant and my first customer."
"Mrs. Oreva told us our future was not decided by what happened to us. I carry that with me every day."
OGACI partners with government bodies, security agencies, schools, corporations, and fellow NGOs to make our work reach further and go deeper than any one organisation could alone.
